Diamond Necklace Movie Review

 Diamond Necklace Movie Review

In recent times, Malayalam cinema has been experimenting with new themes and innovative plots. And Diamond Necklace is one of them. True to his earlier works, director Lal Jose has tried to adopt an offbeat storyline for this film too.

The movie revolves around Arun (played by Fahad Fazil) who is a young oncologist residing in Dubai and his relationship with three women in his life - nurse Lakshmi (Gauthami Nair), fashion designer Maya (Samvruta Sunil) and a classical dancer Rajasri (Anusree).

Arun lives a life of luxury. He shares a flat at the Burj Khalifa with his girlfriend Lakshmi and is a spendthrift. Eventually, he falls into a debt trap and faces a travel ban. But soon he manages to resolve the crisis and meets two more women during the course of the film. The rest of the story deals with how Arun's life takes different twists and turns and how a diamond necklace makes him realise the real value of life.

Fahad Fazil has put in an outstanding performance as the stylish, sensible and sharp-witted doctor.

Of the three actresses, Samvruta's is a career best performance. Debutante Anusree also shows signs of a star in the making.

Director Lal Jose's narrative is smooth and crisp and cinematographer Sameer Thahir has captured the picturesque locales of Dubai in a beautiful manner.

The other highlights of the movie include the great songs by Vidyasagar. The music is melodious and impressive.

Overall, the movie is a one-time watch but promises something fresh and offbeat. Watch it for Lal Jose's direction and Fahad Fazil's acting.
